RESEARCH
Questions That Lead to Better Understanding.
I don’t see research as collecting answers. I see it as learning how to ask better questions about people. My interests connect psychology, behavioral science, mental health communication, and human-centered technology because each offers a different way of understanding people.
This page documents verified experiences, presentations, publications, and the questions that continue to shape my learning.
Research Areas
01
Psychology
Every conversation begins with a person, not a theory.
02
Behavioral Science
Human behavior often makes sense once we understand context.
03
Mental Health Communication
Difficult conversations become possible when people feel heard.
04
Artificial Intelligence & Human-Centered Technology
Technology should understand people before expecting people to understand technology.

My work with Stanford CHIPAO involved long-term collaboration focused on youth mental health and interactive theater. This experience underscored that meaningful research relies on active listening and empathetic observation across diverse groups.
Research can begin by learning how to listen.
Listening changed the way I think.
Research begins long before data is collected.

Seattle · 2024
Presenting at the AACAP Annual Meeting highlighted the importance of translating complex research for professional audiences. It reinforced my belief that responsible communication is a fundamental stage of the scientific process.
Research becomes more meaningful when ideas can be shared, questioned, and discussed openly.

Contributing to JAACAP Connect allowed me to refine research into a structured, written format. This process demanded clarity and organizational rigor to effectively represent intricate behavioral concepts for a global readership.
Good research must also be communicated with care.

Every question opens another.
Curiosity is not the end of research. It is where the next chapter begins.
How I Approach a Question
01
Observe
Pay attention before reaching conclusions.
02
Ask
Transform observations into meaningful questions.
03
Investigate
Learn through discussion, reading, collaboration, and evidence.
04
Reflect
Consider alternative perspectives.
05
Communicate
Share ideas clearly, carefully, and responsibly.
DEVELOPING RESEARCH DIRECTION
Human-Centered AI and Robotics
My interests are increasingly connecting psychology, behavioral science, and emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics.Rather than viewing technology simply as a tool for efficiency, I am interested in how it can better understand emotion, communication, accessibility, and real human needs. As I continue my education, I hope to explore how thoughtful design and interdisciplinary research can help create systems that are not only more capable, but also more human-centered.
This reflects the direction I hope to pursue through future study, research, and collaboration. It is not a claim of completed AI or robotics research.

Research Principles
Ask Better Questions
A thoughtful question is often more valuable than a quick answer.
Respect Complexity
Human behavior deserves careful interpretation.
Communicate Responsibly
Evidence matters, but so does clarity.
Design Around People
Technology should adapt to people, not the other way around.
Research is a way of learning how to see more carefully.
Every experience introduces new questions.Every collaboration offers another opportunity to learn.I hope to continue exploring psychology, behavioral science, and human-centered technology through future study, research, and meaningful collaboration.

Stanford CHIPAO
Through Stanford CHIPAO, I have participated in a long-term collaborative environment exploring youth mental health communication through interactive theater, discussion, and research.
This experience taught me that meaningful research often begins by listening carefully before trying to explain.
Working alongside students, families, clinicians, and researchers helped me appreciate the importance of empathy, communication, and thoughtful observation.
Research can begin by learning how to listen.
What Changed My Thinking
Before joining Stanford CHIPAO, I thought research was mainly about collecting information. Over time, I realized that meaningful research often begins by listening before trying to explain. That lesson continues to shape every project I pursue today.
Listening changes conversations.

Speaking to Researchers
FEATURED RESEARCH · RESEARCH COMMUNICATION
Seattle · 2024
Presenting at the American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Annual Meeting provided an opportunity to communicate research thoughtfully to a professional audience.
The experience reinforced that careful communication is an essential part of responsible research.
Presenting research taught me that communication is not separate from research. If an idea cannot be understood by people from different backgrounds, it still has room to grow.
Explaining ideas changes how we understand them.

JAACAP Connect
FEATURED RESEARCH · RESEARCH WRITING
Contributing to JAACAP Connect extended research communication beyond presentations into written form.
Writing required careful organization, clarity, and responsibility in representing complex ideas for readers.
Writing forced me to organize ideas more carefully than speaking ever could. Every revision helped me discover what I truly understood and what still needed deeper thinking.
Writing reveals what we truly know.
